Two down, many more to go
In a celebration of connections and cultural diversity. I recently had the pleasure of attending the launch of Tigray Coffee’s second outlet located in the Fasaha café premises in Kaduna. As Marketing Director for Tigray, witnessing the fruition of an early step in our national expansion plan is a source of immense pride, akin to watching a cherished child take its first steps.
Fasaha Café
Stepping into Fasaha Cafe, the air was subtle with the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The decor seamlessly blended traditional and artistic elements with modern elegance, creating an environment that instantly captivated the senses – a reflection of the careful planning and branding strategy that went into this venture.
The Launch
The launch event was a spectacle of celebration, fun, and (for me who grew up in the southern part of Nigeria) an opportunity to partake in the uniqueness of the cultures of Kaduna’s peoples and experience the centrepiece of the evening, the coffee tasting ceremony. It was heartening to witness our brand becoming a cultural bridge, bringing coffee, people and ideas from other parts of the nation to the heart of Kaduna.
Tigray Coffee
Tigray Coffee isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a community hub. Our commitment to ethical sourcing and support for Nigerian coffee farmers resonated with the attendees, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to sustainability and community building.
The company feels like a child to me, a project nurtured from inception to this moment of increasing visibility. The role I played in shaping the brand’s identity, marketing strategy, and expansion plan makes this achievement deeply personal. Each cup poured in Kaduna is a testament to the collective effort and passion that went into making Tigray Coffee what it is today. It is also about a commitment to an aesthetic vision I helped shape.
Kaduna City
Amidst the excitement, I took out time to get an impression of Kaduna in my rides via Keke Napep and Bolt, and during an evening walk looking for a restaurant (where I ate the best special rice I have ever tasted). What came across was a warm city full of young people, warm and welcoming people. From the bustling markets to the urbane streets, every aspect of Kaduna came across as open, easy, and welcoming—to me, to our new venture.
The Core Team
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in making this event a reality. Fasaha Cafe, thank you for providing the perfect setting for our coffee foray to Kaduna. Richard Ali, CEO of Tigray Coffee, your vision and leadership have been the driving force behind this success. Mohammed ‘Gogo’ Dikko, Head of Operations at Tigray Coffee; your dedication and operational excellence have been instrumental in turning our dreams into reality.
In Conclusion
Lastly, as I sipped my coffee, surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of Fasaha Cafe and the beauty of Kaduna, I couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of excitement for Tigray Coffee’s future. With the successful launch in Kaduna, the brand is poised to become a symbol of cultural and artistic exchange. I look forward to seeing Tigray Coffee continue to grow, bringing people together one cup at a time.
As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee lingered in the air, and the subtleties of Kaduna unfolded around me, it was evident that Tigray Coffee’s journey had only just begun, promising a future filled with delightful blends, meaningful connections, and the pride of a Marketing Director who witnessed its remarkable growth in the embrace of a city so rich in culture and allure.
